CNC at AWS re:Invent 2019

January 17, 2020

We love when we can send our team to conferences to bring back valuable insights from experts in their field, and put into action innovative ideas that will ultimately help our customers.

That’s why we recently sent team members Joshua Walker, Director of Network Operations, and Chris Adams, Senior Systems Administrator, to the annual AWS re:Invent conference in Las Vegas. Created by Amazon, AWS is the biggest cloud computing platform in the world. Heard of something “living in the cloud”? That’s what AWS offers, and their annual conference is huge, bringing 65,000 IT professionals together for over 2,500 sessions to learn and collaborate each year.

Here are Joshua and Chris’ top three takeaways from the conference, and how they can be applied to CNC’s services and processes.

  1. Edge Computing: AWS is redefining edge computing with its latest products. These advancements help CNC blur the line between local infrastructure and the cloud, allowing us to deliver a more efficient experience for our employees and customers. We’re also able to be more redundant during catastrophes, serving our customers from anywhere in the world.
  2. Next-Gen Hardware: AWS is investing in next-gen hardware to run complicated cloud workflows. This results in a faster, more secure cloud infrastructure for our applications. Our applications will be able to instantly scale to meet any demand while delivering our customers a secure, seamless experience in their time of need.
  3. Machine Learning: Lastly, AWS is expanding its offerings for Machine Learning and AI. CNC is using machine learning to better understand the claims process.

As CNC continues to integrate new technological advances into the claims process, customers will experience the benefits—so everyone wins.
