Jason Baldwin, Director of IT
Why do you do what you do?
I have always been drawn to technology because it lives in the intersection between art and science.
What was your proudest career moment?
My proudest career moment was effortlessly scaling our claims management system and network to handle Katrina and Rita during one of the most catastrophic months in recent history.
What fuels you to do your best?
My fuel is creativity dosed with a healthy amount of detective work. Problems make me curious and obstacles make me pay attention.
What drew you to CNC?
CNC has the speed and flexibility of a small company with the will and determination to do the right thing for people when they're faced with hardship
What are the changes you notice in the industry or foresee?
We have been lucky to stay ahead of the changes in the industry because CNC outgrew our database and infrastructure before web-based claims management systems were introduced to the independent adjustment industry. We mixed Cort's industry expertise with my experience developing corporate intranets and content management from the early dot com days. That enabled us to keep our processes more feature-complete than even dedicated application providers.
What are you good at?
My talent is in quickly noticing and adapting to changing conditions. I can't do yoga, but my software and hardware is flexible enough to put both feet behind their heads
Outside CNC I love to ...
Paint, draw, write, play with photoshop.
What is your favorite song about the weather?
"When The Levee Breaks", Led Zeppelin
