Ashley Case, Director of Accounting
Why do you do what you do?
It is gratifying to help people put their lives back together after a disaster strikes. I enjoy working with insureds and adjusters - making the claims process a more pleasant experience for all involved.
What was your proudest career moment?
Working as a CNC field liaison to several Agencies in Louisiana in the aftermath of a major Hurricane, which allowed me to experience the claims process from the agents and insured perspective and relate that experience back to our training programs and staff. (And earning my forth computer monitor by winning a bet with Cort)
What fuels you to do your best?
Being an asset to the CNC team and setting a good example with my work ethic for my daughter to follow.
What drew you to CNC?
Hurricane Danny. I took a two-week vacation from my prior job in 1997 to help out with Hurricane Danny claims. Working with insurance claims at CNC was much more challenging and rewarding so I resigned and have been working happily here with the CNC family for 13 years.
What are the changes you notice in the industry or foresee?
Advances in communication, data storage, and paperless technology are streamlining the claims process and allowing real time communication with the insured and client, and faster, more accurate estimating.
What are you good at?
I am good at communicating and resolving difficult situations. (Comes in handy explaining policy exclusions). I am an expert at staying in the eye of the storm, keeping focused and accomplishing our company and departmental goals during chaotic catastrophe situations.
Outside CNC I love to ...
Travel, read books about magic and mystery, and play with my daughter. She is 5 going on 15 and I am 38 going on 8 so we play well together.
What’s your favorite song about the weather?
"Lightning Crashes", Live
